Brand New Music Releases.com was created BY independent music makers FOR independent music makers. Tex Johnson the creator and founder was inspired by his friend and business partner Tony (Skully) Cooper after Tony showed Tex a Digital Music Distributor who distributed music for artists to the music download stores. However Tex believed there were too many company’s already doing this; but no company was dealing with the issues of 1) How to get fans to buy more music 2) Provide artists with tools to help them effectively promote their music and 3) There was no REAL social network platform for music makers and fans!

Although our website places great emphasis and priority on the marketing and promotion of independent artists, music producers, and labels; we also do review new music by established major artists on our website to. We review and promote the established artists on major labels by partnering with iTunes and Amazon as we realize that many music fans also want to listen and purchase music from some of the world’s top major acts (See “Music Charts” link in menu bar). Instead of dealing with major labels directly we simply review major artist’s tracks on our website and redirect fans to iTunes or Amazon to make their purchase.

The reason we felt it was important to partner with the 2 biggest sellers of music online is because when music fans browse our website listening to music by the established artists they will hopefully also listen to new music by our independent artists, music producers and labels. Our website is therefore similar to a “stage” where new up and coming acts support established acts in concert or on tour. People come out to see the established acts live on stage but because the new artists opens the concert; music fans are exposed to their music to.

However; the difference between us and iTunes or Amazon is that 1) We are a full blown music social network website 2) We have 8 online TV channels dedicated to 8 different music genres on our website 3) We have a free online music classified section where registered users can post free ads 4) We pay $10 - $20 per month recurring for every Pro or Premium memeber you refer 5) We provide amazing cash savings and ‘cash-back’ rewards to music fans that buy music released by artists on our website ( NOTE – Our rewards do not apply to music purchased on iTunes or Amazon) and 6) We also provide independent music makers with training, tools and resources to help them market and promote their music online. All of these features are what differentiates us from iTunes and/or Amazon.

However; not only is it our intention to make music fans more aware of great music created and released by independent artists, music producers and record labels but we especially want to increase and encourage music fans to buy more music, and support new artists.

It is imposable for independent music makers to survive and earn a living from their recorded work if music fans simply copy and share all download files and copy all CD albums. For example; let’s say you worked for a Supermarket, an Estate Agent or Car Dealer; how long would your employer be able to employ you if all their so called “customers” could just copy and share the products (i.e. the the food, drink, houses and cars) they sell??? Your employer would soon go out of business and you would also be out of a job!

We are not against the “sharing” and “forwarding” of music per say; especially when digital downloads are shared with the music makers permission for promotional purposes. Many times in today’s music world the “sharing” and “forwarding” of promo singles and songs can help spread the name of an artist and can help to promote their music. However; just because artists, music producers and independent record labels enjoy creating and releasing music does not mean that they do not deserve to earn a living from their recorded work just like other employees deserve to earn a living when their employers sell various products and services. We therefore urge music fans to help save the independent music industry by buying more music in general as opposed to copying and sharing ALL music.

To do our little bit to assist in helping to save the independent music industry we intend to financially reward those music fans that buy music on our website. We also set up this social network music portal to encourage artists, music producers and labels to make more high quality albums as opposed to just singles. We are of the belief that albums not only show the depth and substance of an artist but albums also gives music fans a better idea of the variety of songs that an act has in their repertoire. As well as this we believe albums represent better value for money. However; here on Brand New Music Releases.com artists, music producers and labels will still allow fans to select and buy particular tracks from any album they release.

Finally; whilst all these TV talent shows make great entertainment and there have been a few great discoveries; it is our belief that it has also helped to stifle the growth of natural talent. These shows have led people to believe that the best music talent can only be discovered on these manufactured TV talent shows. However; nothing could be further from the truth. We want to get back to raw talented singers, songwriters and musicians getting together, rehearsing and creating great songs in a very natural latural less manufactured way. Whilst it maybe fun to see a lot of people (Many of whom can’t sing to save their lives) make a fool of themselves on stage; it is not nice when we see great talent dismissed and ignored. We don’t believe this is what true music fans want and we would therefore like to see REAL talent come through alongside these entertaining and great TV shows.
